Implement a secure method of authorizing a user's credentials
As previously suggested (and declined) here: http://newsrob.uservoice.com/forums/35624-general/suggestions/871003-implement-oauth-or-android-accounts-api
"Implement OAuth or Android Accounts API. You should never trust your personal password to a third-party android app. I know NewsRob has great and honest developers, but this is not the right way. This feature (although complex to implement) must get more attention."
Implemented with 4.6.
Personally, I'm a Google Trusted tester for Google 2 step verification product.
It works with google authenticator client on android.
Now I give generated codes 2 my apps which ask for my password.
Hawk, sorry, go for gReader. In the foreseeable future there will be no OAuth in NewsRob.
waiting for oauth to buy newsrob or go for greader.
Luke, this will likely not happen. I will try Android Auth first.
Waiting for OAUTH...
Because OAuth is not the right solution.
When Gingebread is out I will investigate again if I can get the internal auth mechanism to work which allows to select an existing user account instead of authenticating again.
If I then don't get it to work, I will fall back to OAuth. Maybe February.
Even gReader has OAuth access to google reader now. Why newsrob still have not?
+3 for me
i hope this gets realized soon!

I am not the only one with a 30+ character password for his google-account.
It's more then just an inconvenience to store it in yet another application that fails to use the Authenticator-mechanism provided by Android for this purpose.
yes. let's do it.
I'm for it too
I am also for this change, it will remove a great aggravation!
